Panti asuhan di Seraya... Orphenage in Seraya, Bali

Life in Bali has its share of surprises ... during my walks "discovery of authentic life", I had the opportunity to visit and support the orphanage of Seraya.

My support, very humbly, is on two levels ...

- Some basic foodstuffs (which can be rice, cooking oil, milk, sugar ...)
- A few hours spent with the children, coaxing them, listening to them, giving them sincere attention ...

The Seraya orphanage is a small structure ...

14 children are permanently resident there, and 9 of the oldest children are in southern Bali to pursue higher education.

At the head of this orphanage, you will meet Tina, a Balinese Catholic, perfectly fluent in the English language ... which makes it a point of honor to pass it on to the children.

Thus, thanks to his dedication and patience, all children, even if shyness points the tip of his nose when it comes to speaking, are able to understand English ...

Tina is supported by two young women, single, also living on the spot.

Let us not veil the face.... without the donations, this orphanage would not survive ...

All the good will of the team would not be enough to feed these 23 children ...

Generous donors allow children access to education, educational activities (two children learn music, piano for one and percussion for the other), attend school tutoring classes several afternoons per week for children from 8 years old ...

In Amlapura, the nearest town, the schools allow the children to receive the religious education proper to each, according to its history, its family origin ...

For her part, at the orphanage, Tina preaches values of respect, tolerance, sharing, fairness ... and children evolve with this openness that makes Bali so rich, humanly speaking ...

The authentic Bali that you will discover during your stay, will undoubtedly lead you on the road of families in precarious situation, or structures such as the orphenage in Seraya ...

Because in Bali, poverty is also a reality.

Let there be no misunderstanding, there is no question for a moment, to make tourism around the misery of the local populations.

But I read here and there that many people, like us, want to give their time to provide some support to children who need it.

By publishing this article today, we place ourselves at the disposition of those of you who have this sensibility and who wish to take advantage of their stay to bring their stone to the building.
